I couldn’t stop laughing for a while when reading your experience in Mexico, I’m from Guanajuato, Mexico. I used to work at Instituto Tecnologico de Celaya at the language center. But I came to Canada 3 years ago. Teaching the language is something that you get to love. Unfortunately I am here in the trucking industry. Lol, life gives us every experience. Thanks for sharing.

Each person’s situation is unique and visa requirements in the US and Canada may be different from each other. The only way to know how difficult it will be is to contact the Canadian embassy to find out what they would require of you.

Hi, thanks for sharing, it sounds like you had a really great time!

I’m also an Englishman and I’ve been teaching in Japan for about four years now. I’m thinking about continuing my ESL career in an English-speaking country (thinking Canada right now) and I was just wondering – how hard was it for you to get a visa when you moved to California?

Hi Adele, Mexican schools are more flexible with age restrictions when hiring teachers than schools from other countries. From our experience, they recently hired an Oxford Seminars TESOL graduate who was 64 years old. For additional details on Mexico go to www.oxfordseminars.com/country/mexico/
