Thank you so much Bill for taking the time to write and share this. It is very much appreciated. I was kind of on the line with making a decision regarding Oxford Seminars. You definitely helped with that decision; gonna take the course in April. You really should get something for promoting Oxford Seminars. : )

Hi,

I am just getting into this. I am 60 years old U.S. naturalized citizen who after 30 years in business wants to do something simpler and more ethical. Would my age be a problem? I am planning to go with Oxford Seminars and their 100 hour program. Does anyone have any advice for me? I have teaching experience but at a college or business level.

Thanks

I'm not a very good teacher and have only taught jewelry making classes. I'm well educated, but have never had the confidence to instruct a large group of people. Do you think Oxford Seminars provides one with the skills to attain or achieve the confidence necessary to do the job. Can a person learn in the short time what is needed to succeed in this adventure. I am very interested in living abroad and seeing other cultures, but must find a way to support myself to do it, and I am now 70. I guess I'd like to know what countries you think are most wanting/needing TESOL instructors, because while I am considering Spain and France, I think the opportunities and experience there may be very different than teaching in say Asia or South America. I so appreciate your report of your experience ; it gives me hope and inspiration; but I need feedback and through research to gain more information to decide if I can accomplish this.

Thank you for sharing. I was laid off from my job of 8.5 years two days ago. By chance, or the grace of God, I stumbled upon an information session being held in my vicinity last night. I taught preschool several years ago while in college, but have never considered teaching again. However, I'm definitely intrigued by the idea of moving abroad, at least temporarily, and trying something new.
